Burkhard Eling

As Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at DACHSER, Burkhard Eling concentrates primarily on the company's long-term entrepreneurial and financial goals. The main focus of his work is the sustainable increase in Return on Capital Employed (ROCE) and an active risk management policy based on the principles of technically sound controlling. Further responsibilities within his portfolio include a forward-looking, stabilizing approach to balance sheet and taxation matters, as well as improving the company's financial and investment potential.

After completing his studies as an industrial engineer at the Technical University in Brunswick and a study visit to Auckland, New Zealand, he started his career in 1999 by completing a business trainee program with Hochtief AG in their southwest regional office. The following year, he moved on to join the controlling team at Philipp Holzmann AG, and, a short time later​, was put in charge of the controlling of the construction group's foreign subsidiaries.

In 2002, Eling joined the central Group Controlling unit of the engineering and service group Bilfinger SE. In addition to providing support to the company's foreign affiliates, he was also active in the integration of subsidiaries acquired domestically and abroad. He became department head in 2004, before taking over management of the central Revision division in 2006.

Position as Chief Financial Officer in the USA

In 2008, Burkhard Eling was appointed CFO of the construction services provider Centennial Contractors Enterprises, Inc., based in Virginia, USA. At this subsidiary of Bilfinger SE, his responsibilities comprised accounting, including the areas of finance, legal, internal audit and risk management. He was also the company's Compliance Officer. After his return to Germany in 2010, Burkhard Eling became Managing Director of HSG Zander International GmbH, a company with global operations. At this facility management service provider, a member of the Bilfinger group, he was responsible, among other things, for accounting, finance, mergers & acquisitions and the local subsidiaries in Great Britain and Ireland.

On June 1, 2012, Burkhard Eling was named Deputy Manager for Finance, Legal and Tax (FLT) at DACHSER GmbH & Co. KG. On July 1, 2013, he was appointed as the new CFO and successor to Prof. Dieter Truxius.
